What's included, Design By Room
A one-hour consultation with your Highgate House designer, held in your home or virtually, to discuss your room, review your space, take measurements and photos (where applicable), and gain an understanding of how you live.
Receive a complete shopping list of the pieces selected for your room, thoughtfully curated around your style, priorities and budget. From furniture and homewares to lighting and finishing touches, every selection is chosen to help bring your designer-curated room to life.
Your designer will present your complete design scheme in our Brisbane store or virtually. Explaining the selections, materials and finishes and how they come together. You'll have the opportunity to discuss the design and make any final refinements before moving forward.
At the time of your presentation, you’ll be guided through a complete mood board showcasing your room’s layout, colour palette, materials, textures and overall design direction. This will give you a clear vision of how your space will come together, with each element thoughtfully considered to create a cohesive and beautifully layered room.
We manage your orders from start to finish, coordinating custom order timelines and arranging delivery of both made-to-order and in-stock pieces. With every detail carefully managed, we make the process seamless and effortless from selection through to arrival.
Your selected pieces are delivered and placed in your home, with all packaging and rubbish removed. The room is finished and ready to enjoy.

Design By Room offers the same expertise, service and beautiful products that Highgate House is known for, thoughtfully delivered in a more streamlined format focused on furnishing and styling. One of our designers creates a personalised scheme just for you, drawn from our extensive and exclusive collection. Allowing you to relax and receive a beautifully transformed room.
The $895 Design By Room fee is charged when you book the service. It includes your consultation, personalised room design, presentation and curated product list of recommended furniture and homewares.
Once you’ve made your selections, we’ll manage the ordering process, coordinate and arrange installation to bring your design to life. As this is a professional design service, the $895 fee is separate from any products purchased and is not applied as a credit.
Of course. We understand that plans can change and we’re happy to accommodate where possible. We kindly ask that you provide as much notice as you can if you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment.
You’ll work with one of our fully qualified interior designers, each with many years of experience creating layered, luxury interiors. After you have booked your appointment, your designer will call you and introduce themselves and answer any questions you may have.
Virtual consultations are available Australia wide! Your designer can work with you virtually using photos and measurements. If you prefer an in-home consultation, our designers can travel within a 2-hour drive radius of our store. A travel fee applies for home visits outside the Brisbane metro area, please contact our team for more information.

There is no obligation to purchase any items following your Design By Room consultation. Our service is designed for those ready to invest in creating a beautifully considered space.
Your scheme is tailored to you with pieces selected from our exclusive ranges and custom-made designs, unavailable elsewhere. We’ll also refine the design with you to ensure it feels right for your space.

Yes, absolutely. Many of our clients begin with one room and continue their design journey across additional spaces in their home. This allows us to create a cohesive flow throughout your interiors, ensuring each room feels connected while still reflecting its own purpose and personality.
Additional rooms can be added at the time of booking, throughout the design process, or once your initial room is complete. While we can work through rooms separately, designing multiple spaces together can be beneficial as it allows us to create a more cohesive flow throughout your home.
Each additional room is $895.
